please do not hesitate to post the name of other movies which i might have missed and the biggest surprise each of the so called rival big channels show them without fail on every weekend. i can vouch for at least 8 months till date. This is the current state of indian television. For daily soaps or series only one word come to my mind disgusting.i can't recall a single television serial shown in the last decade that can be said to be worth watching. And yes till 4 or 5 years back music television channels at least played some music .that too now has vanished . coz mtv is too busy to show reality shows like roadies,splitsvilla . now let me make it clear i have nothing against reality shows.Sure the networks can create a separate channel for these shows, but please spare the music channels.The discovery channel also has joined the bollywood bandwagon. recently a documentary on shahrukh khan was aired.
The situation was completely different just a decade back. there were some terrific programmes in practically most of the channels.And if we go further backwards, there were serials like byomkesh bakshi, reporter.. the list is actually big. The music channels aired music . That's how we discovered artists like lucky ali,kk,euphoria,silk route,JUNOON,strings.
The last decade can be labelled as the era of the downfall of indian television.Now who is reponsible for this??? Television channels, EKTA KAPOOR or we.
Of course the former two factors are responsible in some way.But primarily it is us the viewers who is responsible for this mess. We can give the excuse that the older generation watches these shows and the young generation doesn't watch these shows . but the fact is that younger generation watches these shows more . proof... ah well go to youtube and search for the latest episodes of stupid serials like balika vadhu or any other show.Within a few hours after being aired on television and subsequently put on youtube, they attract a few thousand hits within hours. some popular music videos don't attract that much hit even after 2 months.
So do you think its the older generation who logs on to youtube.....
